Community Living supporters ‘fore’ affordable housing

The sun shone brightly in Wellington for more than 150 people who attended ‘Time for Nine, Wine and Dine’  annual golf tournament hosted by non-profit Community Living Prince Edward.

Golfers, event sponsors and partners, donors, team members, volunteers and supporters came together to enjoy food and beverage pairings as well as nine challenging holes at Wellington on the Lake Golf Course.

“What’s most important about this event are the lives that will be improved thanks to funds that were raised,” said Susan Treverton, Executive Director, Community Living Prince Edward. “Gear Up for a Home of My Own is a unique housing model that enables the people we support to move to more independent and affordable housing here in Prince Edward County. Tournament proceeds help us to create, fund and maintain new housing options.”

She notes the 2024 tournament is by far the most successful hosted to date.

“Foursomes were sold out even earlier this year. We had a record number of businesses – nearly 70 – sponsoring or partnering with us as well as donating to help make the event truly memorable.”

Thanks to the generous donations of multiple restaurants, hotels and wineries, a new “Ultimate County Experiences” draw was launched featuring high value local experience packages featuring business donations with funds generated directly supporting the Personal Outcomes Fund and affordable housing.

Launched in 2015, the charity golf tournament supports Community Living Prince Edward’s mission to facilitate the full participation, inclusion and citizenship of people with intellectual disabilities in the life of Prince Edward County.

“We’re deeply grateful for the contributions of so many to our eighth annual charity golf tournament.” shares Susan. For more information about 2024 sponsors and partners as well as event photos, visit Community Living Prince Edward’s site.
