Consecon Santa Claus Parade starts the season

Snow spurred the spirit for the opening of the Christmas season in Consecon with its 33rd annual Santa Claus Parade.
Featured bands included the Prince Edward County Pipes & Drums, the Brighton Legion Highlanders Band, the 413 Airforce Pipes & Drums, and the Napanee & District Caledonia Pipe Band. Also participating is the crowd favourite Rameses Shriners – Belleville.
Consecon United Church held a bake and craft sale and the Consecon Branch Library hosted an Arts and Crafts sale.
Parade participants entered floats, drove classic cars, arrived on horseback, and walking on their own or with a pet.
Refreshments were available in Santa’s Workshop at the Masonic Lodge. After the parade, Santa gave out chocolate Advent Calendars and assisted children with writing wish letters and making decorations. “RJ the Balloon Dude” handed out a balloon toys.
Post Parade, the Cascades Pub & Grill kicked-off their third annual “A Time To Share” fundraiser with all proceeds going to Wellington’s Storehouse Foodbank. Entertainment by Peter Rea of The Reasons.
