Construction on the new Bloomfield Main Street pedestrian began Monday, April 18 and is expected to continue until late May.
The pedestrian crossing will be located on the west side of the Corey and Bloomfield Main street intersection.
Motorists and pedestrians are to expect traffic disruptions. Flaggers and traffic control measures will be present to direct traffic.
Following public consultation, municipal staff re-worked the Bloomfield crossover to be located approximately in its original location to avoid loss of parking spots for use of the post office. Locations in front of the post office and at the Town Hall had both been considered.
The $163,119 project cost awarded to Drew Harrison Haulage Ltd., was within the capital budget allocated.
