Construction along Millennium Trail to install fibre optic internet cable
Administrator | Aug 06, 2014 | Comments 0
Construction begins Thursday along Prince Edward County’s Millennium Trail to enable the installation of fibre optic cable for high-speed internet service.
The construction is expected to be complete by mid-September. Signs are to be placed at the entrance to affected areas of the trail, advising users of construction taking place, or of a trail closure. The trail sections will only be closed if necessary to complete required construction.
The expansion of high-speed internet services for residents, visitors, and businesses in the County is part of the larger Eastern Ontario Rural Network (EORN) initiative, designed to improve the delivery of high-speed internet in eastern Ontario.
This project is being managed by Cogeco Cable Canada LP.
