County businesses among award winners at 25th annual gala

Several Prince Edward County businesses were honoured at the 25th annual Quinte Business Achievement Awards gala held virtually and in-person Friday at the Heroes Landing Banquet Hall in Trenton.
There were 14 County nominees for awards that celebrate businesses in here, in Belleville, Brighton and Quinte West.
County winners included Norah and Chris Rogers, owners of the Waring House, who received the Sustainability Award; Kaleidoscope Catering in the Hospitality/Tourism category and I-Float In the County in the New Business category.
County business nominations included Advanced Vineyard Services and Campbells’ Orchards (Agribusiness); 555 Brewing Co. (Hospitality/Tourism); Ball Machine (Manufacturing); Bermuda PEC (New Business); KC Closet Fashion Boutique, Sunflower Fields Ice Cream Shoppe (Retail); Hickory Homes (Trades/Construction); Jen Beldam – Northern Craft Supply (Young Entrepreneur); Horse Sense Equine Guidance (Health and Wellness); and Yeeboo Digital (Tech Sector).
“The businesses in our region continue to show their resiliency after 20 months of the Covid-19 pandemic with so much great activity going on across all sectors,” stated Suzanne Andrews, chair of this years’ organizing committee. “We had 105 companies complete the nomination process, showcasing the great diversity and strength Quinte businesses have; we are proud of all the nominees.”

Retail Business of the Year: Vivacious Clothing & Day Spa
Specialized Service Business of the Year: Astounding Heights Dance Academy
Trade / Construction Business of The Year: A1 Plumbing Pumps & Water Treatment Inc.
Young Entrepreneur of the Year: Maddie MacDonald
Sustainability Award: The Waring House
Trailblazer of the Year: Tire Wizard
Business Person of the Year: Eric Lehtinen
