Allocations for the 2020 Ontario Municipal Partnership Fund (OMPF) have been announced earlier to help municipal governments with 2020 budget planning.
The OMPF is the province’s main general assistance grant for municipalities. It is designed to help rural and northern municipalities, areas with limited property assessment and assist with funding changes.
For the 2020 budget year $4,140,200 will come to Bay of Quinte municipalities for use in local priorities. Prince Edward County will receive $2,806,200; Quinte West $1,258,000 and Hastings County, $76,000.
The County received $2,742,800 for 2019.
“Maintaining the OMPF will give these municipalities cost certainty as they deliberate their budgets for the upcoming year, allowing them to make better-informed planning decisions for taxpayers,” said Todd Smith, MPP for Bay of Quinte.
The local announcement is part of a $500-million investment for 389 municipalities across Ontario.
