The County Clippers U12 Girls team hosted the first ever County Classic tournament last weekend at PECI with teams coming from Timmins, Belleville and Peterborough.
Coach Lesley Lavender reports:
It was an exciting weekend for the County Clippers, where the U12 Major Atom Girls team hosted the Clippers’ first ever OBA Sanctioned tournament. We had teams from all over the province competing, as far away as Timmins, Ontario.
The Clippers team deservingly won their first two games of the season. They keep getting better each game out. They gave the Belleville Spirits second team a good run in the bronze-medal game, actually leading for most of the first half.
They are very feisty and don’t get intimidated regardless of who they play.
Next up for the U12 team is a tournament in Newmarket in February and have challenged the Spirits to a rematch.
Scores:
County Clippers (16) vs. Belleville Spirits #1 (53)
County Clippers (37) vs. Timmins Selects (22)
County Clippers (36) vs. Peterborough Power (30)
County Clippers (22) vs. Belleville Spirits #2 (38)
