The Prince Edward Federation of Agriculture (PEFA), together with the PEC Dairy Producers, PEC 4-H Association, PE Cattlemen’s Association and Picton Agricultural Society presented $2,300 to be divided between the Storehouse Food Bank and Picton United Church Food Bank in honour of frontline healthcare workers during this pandemic.
“During this exceptionally difficult time, our frontline healthcare workers are doing a tremendous job taking care of our loved ones and neighbours,” said John Thompson PEFA president. “We also wish to reassure our communities of our continued commitment to feed our county and the world in this time of need.”
PEFA is the local branch of the Ontario Federation of Agriculture, representing more than 300 farm families in Prince Edward County. PEFA’s mission is to support the long-term viability of agriculture and agribusiness in Prince Edward County.
