Female entrepreneurs in the County celebrated successes of the past year and raised $700 for Prince Edward County women in need of support.
More than 40 members of the County FEM (Female Entrepreneur Mastermind) group who attended a ‘Badass Ladies’ Ball’ raised funds for the County’s Alternatives for Women organization that supports women in transition and crisis.
County FEM is an informal group that organizes itself mostly through Facebook. Its aim is to provide a network for women entrepreneurs and professionals to inspire, support and encourage one another.
“Together we over-reached our goal of $500 to donate to Alternatives for Women – we raised a total of $700,” said Katy McIntyre, County FEM founder, with Hilary Foster. She was delighted that the informal group’s last-minute project would have “such incredible results of new connections and friendships, boosts to women-strong businesses and a significant charitable gift to a deserving local cause.”
Women interested in joining the group should type: CountyFEM (Female Entrepreneur Mastermind) into the Facebook search bar.
