County seeks volunteers for several committees

The municipality invites community volunteers to apply to serve on several committees and task teams.

Three people are needed for the newly created Street Naming Task Team. The main goals of the task team will be to review all suggestions and nominations for street names, in accordance with the Commemorative Street Naming Policy, and conduct research to ensure the validity of the proposed street names.

Committees provide council and staff with input about a wide variety of subjects through discussions, presentations and recommendations.

The County is also looking to fill the following vacancies:
Cemetery Advisory Committee – two members
Accessibility Advisory Committee – one member
Museum Advisory Committee – one member
Heritage Advisory Committee – one member
Community and Economic Development Commission – one youth member (between the ages of 16 and 25)

Any permanent resident, property owner, or business owner in Prince Edward County who is 16 years of age or older is eligible to apply.

The deadline to apply for the committee openings is 4 pm on Wednesday, Sept. 8. To learn more and to apply online, visit the County website.

Direct questions to the Clerk’s Office at clerks@pecounty.on.ca or call 613.476.2148 extension 1020 between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
