Prince Edward County, led by its Economic Development Office, made five submissions and won three first prize awards.
“Since the establishment of the economic development department almost a decade ago, we have developed a successful and growing economy, investment attraction and job creation is very strong, and our tax base has grown,” said Mayor Leo Finnegan. “The economic development team has done a fine job and has worked very well with the community to help make our economy grow. These awards are another indication of the successful path Prince Edward County is on to grow and diversify our economy.”
All three awards reflect the new digital and creative economy in Prince Edward County.
“I am thrilled that all three awards were collaborations with many community businesses and with neighboring communities,” said Dan Taylor, Economic Development Officer. “While it is an honour to win awards, these projects delivered real economic benefits to the community.”
