Curves members help keep food bank shelves fit

Picton United Church County Food Bank director Pat Romkey was delighted to receive three giant totes full of non-perishable foods from the members of the Picton Curves. Donations were collected from members, says Wendy Culmer, and from new members who chose to have their April sign-up fee waived if they donated $30 worth of groceries. “I am so impressed by the wonderful generosity of this community,” said Romkey. “The people of Prince Edward County are so giving.” This, on the heels of a successful door-to-door food canvass in Bloomfield last Saturday by the Bloomfield AOTS (As One That Serves) Men’s Club where more than 300 grocery bags of food were collected. “I think I’m surrounded by angels,” Romkey said.
