Daylight break and enter suspects arrested

An older couple has been arrested in relation to a daylight break and enter in Picton.
On July 9, Prince Edward County O.P.P. were dispatched to a break and enter reported at Prospect Avenue in Picton.
Officers responded and shortly after, located a vehicle matching the description given provided by the victim. Arrested was a 67 year old male from no fixed address but originally from Poland and a 61 year old female also with no fixed address and from Poland.
Both have been charged with break and enter, possession of break in instruments, possession of property obtained by crime under $5000, and obstruct peace officer.
They were held for bail with a court appearance in Belleville July 13.
Further investigation by the Prince Edward Detachment Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) revealed the two suspects may have been involved in numerous break and enters throughout Quinte and surrounding areas. The suspects will enter unlocked residences and when discovered inquire if the residence is for sale before leaving the scene.
Police are reminding people to lock their doors day and night and if you observe suspicious activity happening at a neighbour’s home document any information you can including licence plate numbers, vehicle make and color and descriptions of any individuals seen.
