Driver pronounced deceased; cruiser struck during investigation

A 71-year-old was pronouced deceased following a single vehicle incident in Picton Monday.
Prince Edward OPP continue to investigate the incident on Main, near Paul Street, April 1 shortly before 3 p.m.
Information obtained stated the 71-year-old driver was unconscious. The individual was transported to hospital where they were pronounced deceased. Preliminary information shows the individual had a medical episode prior to the collision.
While responding, a police cruiser was struck on its driver side. There were no injuries to either driver.
OPP would like to remind drivers to be aware of emergency vehicles responding to emergencies. Vehicles are directed to pull to the right when directed by emergency crews or vehicles.
