Election coverage live tonight

Pre-election polls show the minority Liberals in a virtual tie with the Progressive Conservatives. Pundits say there’s a possibility the $90-million snap election will result in another minority government.

In Prince Edward Hastings, incumbent Todd Smith, PC, is up against Georgina Thompson, Liberal, Merrill Stewart, NDP, Anita Payne of the Green Party and Lindsay Forbes, Libertarian.

Very disappointed. Either people don,t want to or just cannot handle the truth. Need money,
then just borrow more. Put it on the never never ever pay for it plan!

  2. Wrangler says:

The next 4 years should prove interesting for the Hastings and Prince Edward riding. Ontario voted and we have a Liberal majority gov’t. So, lets ponder this…who represents us? Why its The Conservatives (Todd Smith). I don’t see anything good coming our way. The “die-hard” PC supporters in this area need to accept change…just because our family lineage has always been a PC supporter means nothing…change is due… but first 4 long years of no representation….

  3. Mark says:

It is really too bad the County will be left out in the new Government. We will reap the leftovers. Surprising that this riding could not recognize the move away from fear!

  4. Snowman says:

Todd Smith will continue to be the barking dog, with no bite at Queens Park.
Trouble is, a majority-60% of the voters in his own riding didn’t vote for him. So who does he really represent?

  5. Sam says:

    CBC: Liberal majority!

Love it or hate it, it is 4 years of provincial stability. Hudak was just too scary.

Too bad PEC will have a representative without any teeth.

  6. Mark says:

The results across the province will be interesting. A split of votes between the surging NDP and Liberals could help Timmy. Locally is a forgone conclusion as Smith will win by 7000 votes I predict. That was a done deal when he stood against turbines. I wonder if the low voter turnout at advance polls was because the Tories sent out letters directing voters to wrong voting stations or if it is more the voters disgust with the whole bunch? It’s definitely a pinch your nose and vote election!
