The municipality’s emergency control group developed the extreme cold weather procedure based on community need and practices in similar-sized municipalities. The program is supported financially by the Prince Edward-Lennox and Addington Social Services.
If community members need a place to get warm during the day, they can pop into a local branch of the Prince Edward County Public Library. Visit the Library website for branch hours of operation. The Library is operating at 50 per cent capacity as per provincial COVID-19 regulations. Visitors to the library must follow all COVID-19 protocols including wearing a mask and passing the COVID-19 screening.
