UPDATE MONDAY: Due to continued severe cold across the region, with temperatures in excess of public health guidelines, no school transportation will be offered Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019.

Schools will remain open.

As an extreme cold warning continues across Southern Ontario, County residents could wake up for the work and school week facing a wind chill of -36C Monday morning – meaning frostbite possible in minutes.

The Tri-Board Student Transportation Services has cancelled school buses. Earlier today, school bus cancellations were announced for the Kawartha Pine Ridge, Peterborough, Northumberland, Clarington and Campbellford areas.

Meanwhile, the break in the cold may come Tuesday with a chance of flurries and temperature of -8C. Wednesday could be a balmy 2C.
