There was fun to be had in Ameliasburgh on Sunday. Families enjoyed a concert by the Kente School Band, bocce ball, a scavenger hunt and a baseball tournament BBQ hosted by the Prince Edward Car Club.
All proceeds from this event will go towards the ongoing renovations at the Ameliasburgh Town Hall. New ceiling tiles and fans have already been installed and new curtains are on order. Other renovations like replacing the floor, widening the hallways and adding 2 accessible washrooms are looking to be completed come fair time.
The Ameliasburgh Hall is one of the oldest in Prince Edward County. To date groups such as the Rednersville, Consecon and Mt. View W.I., Quinte Educational Museum & Archives, Seventh Town Historical Society, Ameliasburgh Garden Club, Fair Board and the Anglican Church Women’s group have raised approximately $11,000 toward the renovation project.
