Fun in the sun was number one on the minds of Hillier Park Day participants, Saturday at Jack Taylor Park. Perfect weather combined with delicious food and a full day of activities.
Visitors enjoyed magic and music, a variety of carnival games, contests like watermelon eating, obstacle course racing and hoola hooping. Len Smith, conductor of the “Hillier Express” conducted wagon rides around the park. The Wellington Dukes were great sports, volunteering to be victims at the Dunk Tank. The Hillier Firefighters’ Association hosted a barbecue, fire safety demonstrations and firetruck display. Christie’s Little Portable Petting Zoo brought a number of furry and feathered friends to meet the crowds. The Hillier Recreation Committee hosted a silent auction throughout the day.
The festivities were sponsored by the Hillier Recreation Committee and the Hillier Firefighters’ Association.
