CHEERS! from The Prince Edward Federation of Agriculture (PEFA), to Christopher Bell, this year’s recipient of the annual post-secondary bursary of $500 for students from Prince Edward County who are involved in the agricultural industry.
Bell is a fifth generation farmer alongside his parents on their cattle farm near Consecon. He is an active member of the local 4-H program, completing clubs such as beef, horse, drama, scrapbooking, sheep, curling, woodworking, steer, and giant vegetables.
He is also on the Board of Directors for the Ontario Junior Hereford Association, an organization that helps promote Hereford agriculture to youth like himself. Chris is a student at Loyalist College, enjoying the interactive media and animation program
In collecting applications, PEFA asks for agricultural experience, agricultural background, community involvement, school activities, personal achievements and awards, why they chose their particular course and its perceived long term benefits.
PEFA is the local branch of the Ontario Federation of Agriculture, representing more than 300 farm families in Prince Edward County. PEFA acts for the long -term viability of agriculture and agribusiness in PEC.
