The Prince Edward County Affordable Housing Corporation has issued a tender for the demolition of the former arena, at 230 Niles St., Wellington.
The demolition will make way for the construction of a 36-unit affordable housing development comprised of one-, two-, and three-bedroom units and four three-bedroom affordable family townhomes for occupancy in the early fall of 2024.
The tender closes Jan. 30 with demolition scheduled to begin March 10, and completed by May 1, 2023.
Prior to demolition commencing, the Affordable Housing Corporation and County staff are to hold a public meeting for residents to review the demolition plan and answer any questions.
