Free tire drop off helps dreams come true

Hotch’s Auto Parts invites Prince Edward County community members to recycle their used tires free of charge in support of making childrens’ dreams come true.
Roll your old tires into Hotch’s, participants in a province-wide Tire Take Back campaign that will raise money in support of The Sunshine Foundation of Canada, a Canadian charitable organization that makes dreams come true for children with severe physical disabilities or life-threatening illnesses. Last year Hotch’s collected 3,227 tires, which resulted in $8,958.38.
Hotch’s is partnering with Ontario Automotive Recyclers Association (OARA) and Ontario Tire Stewardship (OTS) to host the Tire Take Back collection event where all tire fees associated with each passenger, light truck and agricultural tire dropped off during business hours will be donated to The Sunshine Foundation.
Take your tires to Hotch’s May 26 – May 31 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Hotch’s Auto Parts, 22 Crofton Road, Ameliasburgh
More than 58,000 tires were collected last year across Ontario during the Tire Take Back events and more than $175,000 was raised allowing Sunshine Foundation to send children within its network on trips of a lifetime. To put that into perspective, fees from four tires can buy Mickey Mouse ears, a princess tiara or waterproof sunscreen for a swim with the dolphins.
Finally, there’s nothing like some friendly competition to get the tires rolling. The collection site that brings in the most tires will be awarded a community prize of $15,000 in sustainable, recycled tire products for a local, non-profit project.
