Construction began Monday to replace fuel tanks at the Picton marina.
“The County is undertaking this construction with a target completion date of May 1, to minimize any disruption to boaters and anglers,” said Emily Tubbs,
Corporate Communications Officer, in a statement.
“This construction will complete a required upgrade of the marina’s fuel dispensing equipment, which is necessary in order to comply with the requirements of the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA). In order to comply with the Ontario Liquid Fuels Handling Code, this equipment must be replaced before any fuel is dispensed this year.”
While construction is under way, the parking lot of the Picton marina will remain accessible to motorists. The boat launch area and a portion of the parking lot will be closed for the duration of repairs.
The County contracted M.A. Barr Service Station Maintenance Ltd. to complete the repairs.
