A lion, a tiger and an elephant were spotted among hundreds of people parading through Picton Saturday night.
The crowd gathered at Benson Park, then paraded together to a circus themed Crystal Palace filled with the magic of lights in celebration of the fourth annual Firelight Lantern Festival.
Many participants had attended lantern-making workshops at the library and other locations.
Event founder Krista Dalby noted it was a participatory parade where everybody joins in, and costumes are encouraged.
Accompanying in the parade were be musical guests, Dave Clark & The Woodshed Orchestra, mashing up classic dance styles from all over the world. They also performed on stage at the Crystal Palace.
Activities inside included a fortune teller, tattoo artists, photos with circus animal cutouts, food, light installations and additional music from DJ Ombudsman.
