Golfers drive $8,000 toward Children’s Mental Health

CHEERS! to golfers and supporters of the 4th Annual Wellington Classic Golf Tournament and Auction for Children’s Mental Health Services Hastings-Prince Edward County who raised $8,000 at the July 7 event at the Wellington on the Lake Golf Course and Recreation Centre.
Due to the commitment of major sponsors Boyer KIA, McDougall Insurance and Sun Life, and the overwhelming support of the Wellington on the Lake community and local businesses, the sold-out event was a smashing success with $8,000 raised.
Funds will support Prince Edward and Hastings County children and youth with mental health issues to improve self-confidence and self-esteem through participation in sports, arts and other camps and activities throughout the year. Children’s Mental Health offers services in Picton and at four locations in Hastings County.
The winning men’s team was Paul Farquhar, Tim Farquhar, Laurie Brown and Gary Pashley.
Donna Purcell, Pam McKibbon, Wendy Lane and Janet Whalen were the winners for the ladies team.
Aggie Cooke, Lee Cooke, Al Verry and Jacquie Verry were the winning mixed team.
