Quinte Health Care would like to hear from you as they plan for the future of your hospital. With that objective in mind they have invited residents of the community to attend a meeting to have their voices heard and to help QHC determine its new five year strategic plan. This meeting will take place at the Community Centre, Main St., Picton on Wed June 15th from 6:30-8 p.m.
If you are unable to attend the meeting there are other ways to join in the conversation. You may go to the QHC web site at www.qhc.on.ca to read more, join a discussion forum, complete a survey and provide your input. You may also email Karla Benoit at kbenoit@qhc.on.ca. or call 613-969-7400, ext.2027. Karla would prefer that you RSVP if you are planning on attending the meeting so that they have an idea of numbers. However, if you decide to attend and have not registered this should not pose a problem. Depending on the number attending, this Strategic Planing meeting may take place in a forum style with small groups sitting at tables discussing questions relating to the future of QHC. Incidently, QHC has held or will be holding meetings with staff, physicians and residents throughout the QHC catchment area to get their feedback I believe. QHC CEO Mary Clare Egberts, along with Board Chair Brian Smith and Vice Chair Steve Blakely will be in attendance. Here is an excellent opportunity for you to provide constructive criticism and to meet those who manage/administrate your local hospital. I am hopeful that once the exercise in Strategic Planning is completed that evening, you as stakeholder/taxpayers will have an opportunity to ask questions. I have been assured by QHC Director of Communications, Susan Rowe that if the media are in attendance, they will not be asked to leave. Thus, this will enable the stakeholders that were unable to attend to be apprised of the input at the meeting. Hope to see as many of you there as possible to help influence the future of your hospital as the planning begins to take shape.
