Hit TV show will help you Love, or List your Home

Love It or List It hosts Hilary Farr (Interior Designer) and David Visentin (Realtor)

Do you love your home – or should you list it? Here’s a chance to find out – while having a lot of fun participating in the W Network hit TV series Love it Or List It.
Love It Or List It is looking for Prince Edward County (and area) homeowners whose home, for whatever reason, doesn’t suit their needs and they’re now faced with the decision to renovate or start fresh with a new home.

The show’s executive producers own vacation property in the County and love the charm and character of the area. The show hopes to cast families in the next couple of months and are aiming to film for Season 4 between October and December.

“Love It or List It” is a primetime reality series about homeowners who’ve lost the sizzle in their love affair with their home. Their needs have outgrown the home they once loved and it’s lost the luster that once attracted them to it – leaving the homeowners faced with the dilemma of whether they should “love it or list it”!
And so the rivalry between the designer and realtor ensues. It’s up to designer, Hilary Farr to revive that love and put a stop to the wandering eyes of the homeowners. Meanwhile, realtor, David Visentin is determined to take advantage of that by dangling temptation right in front of them with dreamy homes. The often humorous but competitive tug of war between Hilary and David makes for an entertaining duo. But it’s not all laughs between the two as drama unfolds in every episode when problems arise and tensions run high with the homeowners.

The kitchen AFTER!

Right from the start, there is an evident divide among the homeowners, when one wants to move and the other wants to stay. Not only are the hosts competing with one another, but the homeowners are too. They are torn, and the added pressure among the homeowners intensifies the drama in each episode.
David’s agenda is to get the homeowners explore other houses in the market. His goal is to present them with homes that are better than theirs, meet their needs and more – all within their budget. With one homeowner rooting for David, he takes on the challenge to win the other over so the couple will list.
Hilary, on the other hand, doesn’t want the family to move. Her mission is to get them to love their home again. She makes a list of the homeowners’ must haves and comes up with a design in hopes of persuading them to stay. The homeowners’ investment in the renovations will also increase the value of their home. With the one homeowner cheering Hilary on, she gets down to work to win the other over so the couple will love it.
Every episode takes its viewers on an emotional rollercoaster as Hilary and David implement their plans to battle it out for the homeowners’ allegiance. In theory Hilary and David’s plans are alluring to the homeowners, but once their plans are put into action the drama quickly unfolds. With renovation, there are always setbacks, and sometimes it means the homeowners must lose one of their must haves on their list to stay. When Hilary has to deliver bad news to the homeowners, they look to David to step up his game. On David’s end, it’s sometimes challenging to find everything the homeowners want in their dream home or sometimes finding the right location in the right price point is more difficult than originally anticipated. These obstacles heighten the drama between the homeowners and hosts – leading them to question whether or not David and Hilary can deliver. The homeowners experience highs and lows along their journey, but by the end of it all, they have a life changing decision to make. The stakes are high as the homeowners weigh in the financial and emotional decisions of buying a new home or staying in the renovated one – will they love it enough to stay or is it time to list?

Will Hilary’s designs be enough to rekindle the love they once had for their home or will David convince them to start a new love affair in a new home? Whatever the outcome, one thing is for sure, someone is buying martinis, but whose victory will David and Hilary be toasting?
“Love It or List It” has the right blend of humor and drama that keeps its viewers coming back for more.
