The Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital (PECMH) Foundation has welcomed new volunteer directors to its board.
From the left, back row are: new director Peggy Payne, who is also president of the PECMH Auxiliary; Susan Law; new director Lillian Duffy; Dr. Michael Shannon (front row) new director Fran Donaldson, vice president; Leo Finnegan, president; and Larry Matheson, past president. Absent were directors Ken Menlove; Monica Alyea; Cline Pierson; and Paul Gallagher, treasurer. The Foundation is an independent, charitable organization that works to raise funds to support health care services for County residents.
With input and oversight by the Foundation’s volunteer Board of Directors, the PECMH Foundation represents the interests of donors and equipment needs at Picton Hospital, encouraging gifts and ensuring they’re used effectively, responsibly and in compliance with the wishes of the donor.
Since its incorporation in 1985, the Foundation has helped focus fundraising efforts, connecting donors with appropriate capital equipment needs at Picton Hospital.
Each year, equipment needs are submitted for consideration based on priority and available resources. All equipment, purchased with generous donations, must follow a hospital approval process. Medical equipment purchases are not government funded.
