Picton’s Jess Craig finished her Calgary Dinos university swimming career at the University of Montreal campus this past weekend in an intense battle for bragging rights at the National Championship. Craig collected a hard fought silver medal in her four swims during the games and made finals in all of her events. She earned silver in the women’s 4×100 medley relay.
The battle ended in a showdown with long time foe the University of British Columbia. The pool gallery was full an hour before every day’s preliminary sessions and the evening finals.
With the 2012 Olympic trials just a month away, the former Picton Dolphin will continue to swim with the University Swim Club.
Over the past five years of long, hard practices, she has gained three national titles, four all-Canadian team selections, representing Canada and Prince Edward County at the World University Games in Serbia, a huge collection of medals and personal best swims.
