Jif brand peanut butters recalled; possible salmonella

The J.M. Smucker Company has recalled certain Jif brand peanut butter products because of possible salmonella contamination.
Eleven products sold in Canada include creamy, light, crunchy and dark roast creamy peanut butter have been recalled.
Jars with lot codes ranging from 1274425 to 2140425 should be disposed of.
The Canadian recall follows a salmonella outbreak linked to Jif peanut butter in the United States where 14 people became ill and two were hospitalized. The USA cases were reported in 12 states. There are about 50 Jif products in the USA recall.
So far there have been no reported illnesses in Canada.
