Junior Farmers welcome crowd for sunny Saturday egg hunt

The Easter Bunny, in a special agreement with the Prince Edward County Junior Farmers, held a test-run at the Williams Farm in Bloomfield Saturday morning.
The year’s first full sun and warmest Saturday brought smiles to visitors on a tour of the dairy farm to meet the herd – including a newborn that morning – and a few barn cats.
The junior farmers also hosted crafts and puzzles inside one of the barns, but the highlight of the fourth annual event was a run in the sun to scour the farm for hundreds of tin-foil wrapped chocolate eggs.
Junior Farmers is the only Ontario youth organization run entirely by youth between the ages of 15-29. Junior Farmers of Ontario has more than 600 members across the province. Members focus on developing leadership skills and contributing to their communities by holding social events to promote agriculture and an awareness of rural life.
JFAO works with the Ontario Federation of Agriculture, 4‐H Ontario, Royal Agricultural Winter Fair and its own alumni to further increase the opportunities for youth.
