Following the election announcement early this morning of Erin O’Toole as the new Conservative Party of Canada leader, the Bay of Quinte riding will see some competition for the local position.
Shelby Kramp-Neuman, financial advisor, former councillor and Deputy Mayor in Centre Hastings announced she intends to run for nomination as Bay of Quinte’s candidate, a position currently held by Tim Durkin.
“With the possibility of an election, I have made the bold decision to put my name forward now,” she said. “I’ve always known at some point I would love to take the leap to federal politics and I’ve never felt more ready.”
Kramp-Neuman was born in Belleville and raised in Madoc, and is the daughter of long-time federal and provincial politician Daryl Kramp, who served the Prince Edward Hastings riding from 2004 to 2015 and is currently the MP for Hastings Lennox and Addington.
