Leading Ladies extends its run with bonus Sunday matinee

With a near sell out opening weekend and limited tickets available for next Friday and Saturday’s 8pm shows, the cast and crew of Prince Edward Community Theatre’s “Leading Ladies” will offer a bonus show Sunday, May 13, at 2pm.

Director Lynn Fennell contacted Samuel French Monday morning to extend the rights for another show.
“The desire to add a bonus show on Mother’s Day came from the cast and crew as they were hearing from friends and family that tickets were almost sold out for the closing weekend,”  said Jennifer Goodman, co-producer.  “The show was well received from audiences who roared with laughter on opening weekend. This is not a show to miss.”

Starring Bill McMahon, Wilma McCagg, Adam Bramburger, Crystal Mayer, Mark Danier, George Papanicolaou, Kevin McGall and Pat Larkin, the farce centers on two down-on-their-luck Shakespearean actors, Leo Clark and Jack Gable. The pair discover through a newspaper that Florence, an older ailing woman, has been unable to find Max and Steve, her sister’s children who moved away to England as children in order to include them in her multi-million dollar inheritance. They decide to pose as Max and Steve to claim portions of it. When they discover that “Max” and “Steve” are actually “Maxine” and “Stephanie,” they continue on, undaunted, in drag.

Goodman says limited tickets are available at outlets for Friday and Saturday night for $14. “Call in advance to reserve seats 613-476-5925 and do not take a chance of tickets at the door for these two performances.  Sunday’s tickets will be available at the door only and will be $14. Door sales are cash only and exact change is greatly appreciated.”

As well, you can purchase your season tickets for Prince Edward Community Theatre’s Season 5 offering three great shows “Tuesdays with Morrie”, “Moon over Buffalo” and “Dial M for Murder”.  Three shows for just $30.
