CHEERS! from the County Sustainability Group (CSG) to winners of the 2024 Ecological Farmer Bursary.
Tim Rorabeck of Rorafresh Farm was presented with a $1,000 from CSG member Don Hudson.
Hans Ning of Paper Kite Farm was presented $500 from CSG members Don Hudson and Don Chisholm.
This is the CSG’s fifth year awarding local farmers who best demonstrate the principles of ecological farming, with proceeds from the annual spring rainbarrel sales.
CHEERS! from the CSG, also, to winners of its third annual Organic Pollinator Bursary.
Mike Barnes, of Lambs Quarter’s Farm, received $500 from CSG member Renia Tyminski.
David Bazett-Jones, Ontario Land Trust participant, and Tim Rorabeck, of Rorafresh Farm, received their $500 from CSG member Don Hudson.
These recipients were considered most deserving of the 2024 award which honours farmers committed to the principles and practices of organic farming and who illustrate sustainable practices to protect, preserve, and promote pollinator health. Funded by a gift from PEC’s Long Point Honey Company.
