A few hundred Lords and ladies visited Hillier Saturday for a day in the medieval realm hosted by the Blades of Glory.
The educational and entertainment company shared its expertise in armour, weapons, combat, dance and magic.
Participants learned history and current practices in Falconry, were invited to try on armour and helmets and witnessed a Knight Combat Tournament.
Lord Owen and Lord Jonas were represented by knights to battle in their honour to win the hand of a fair maiden at the coming ball.
Queen Elly and her brother Max Weaver presided over an afternoon session.
The event also included workshops, face painting, storytelling, a medieval market, activities and a show of magical tricks and slights of hand.
A petting zoo (to interact with the beasts of the realm), was enjoyed by Marie-Lynne and John Vacher with children Matteo and Camille.
The Hillier Recreation Committee, organizers of the event, also welcomed the Prince Edward County fire department and its antique truck – a perennial favourite for the children.
Wagon rides provided an overview of the Hillier Park Day festivities.
