Low voter turnout at advance polls

Elections Ontario is reporting low voter turnout at advance polls for the Bay of Quinte by-election.
It states 7,885 voters have cast ballots – 8.1 per cent of all registered voters. The non-partisan agency responsible for administering provincial by-elections and elections, notes 12,285, or 13 per cent of voters, had cast ballots ahead of election day for the 2022 election.
There are officially seven candidates seeking votes for the Bay of Quinte by-election: Tyler Allsopp (PC), Lori Borthwick (Green), Sean Kelly (Liberal), Amanda Robertson (NDP), Margaret Schuler (New Blue Party), Mark Snow (Libertarian) and John Turmel (as an Independent).
Important Dates for Voting
• Until Sept. 18 – Vote before election day at your returning office until 6p.m. (Eastern Time)
• Until Sept. 19 – Use assistive voting technology at your returning office or by appointment on election day.
• Sept. 19 – Vote on election day from 9a.m. to 9p.m. (Eastern
Time). Visit voterinformationservice.elections.on.ca for your assigned voting location.
Political Advertising & Election Surveys
• Sept. 18 to 19 – Political advertising blackout in effect.
• Sept. 19 – Election surveys that have not previously been made
public may not be published from 12:01a.m. to 9p.m. (Eastern Time).
