Hundreds of elves worked through the evening to create a magical Christmas atmosphere at Picton’s Crystal Palace and Community Gardens.
The Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Festival of Trees opens this morning at 10 a.m. presenting a three-day giant silent auction of beautifully decorated Christmas trees and related seasonal decorations. All funds raised go to Picton hospital.
“Without the help of many loyal volunteers, we would not be able to hold a fundraiser such as this, and we thank them whole-heartedly for their efforts,” report co-chairpersons Joyce Minaker and Nancy Hicks.
The annual Bake Sale is set for Saturday morning at 10 a.m. and continues until sold-out. Visitors are also welcome to purchase draw tickets on a variety of featured items. New this year is a table hosted by the Auxiliary’s Second Time Around Shop volunteers. The Craft Sale will be held at the Community Centre location and everybody is reminded to bring the kids Sunday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to visit Santa and the elves before heading downtown Picton for the Santa Claus parade at 3 p.m. The event runs from Friday, Nov. 26 to Sunday, Nov. 28. Visit 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday.
Volunteer entertainers will bring music to the event all weekend.
