Briar Boyce, the Hospital’s Foundation’s Senior Development Officer, (second from left) received the $1,940 donation from representatives of the Wellings.
Spirits were bright at Wellings of Picton as residents presented the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation (PECMHF) with a holiday gift of $1,940.
The funds were raised through two events – the annual car wash and barbecue held in June that raised $840 and the annual Christmas Bazaar in November that raised $1,100.
Tracey Cronkright, Wellings general manager, thanked the community for supporting both events and extended heartfelt gratitude to those who helped organize the fundraisers.
“A big thanks to our committee members and all the local vendors and businesses who have contributed time, set up a table or visited our car wash to make our efforts a success,” said Cronkright. “I also want to recognize the team at Wellings of Picton who helped ensure our attendees had a safe and enjoyable experience at both events.”
Continued support for the County’s hospital and the building of the new hospital speaks to the importance of community involvement and the impact it has on the quality of life for the residents and visitors, said Shannon Coull, executive director of the PECMH Foundation.
“We are so grateful for the generosity shown to us by our friends living at Wellings who continue to creatively and passionately invest in the future of health care delivery at Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital.”
The Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation is a charitable organization whose mission is to raise money to advance health care for the people of Prince Edward County and the patients of the hospital.
