Men of Movember – start your razors!

The County's Men of Movember want YOU to support men's health issues by growing a moustache during November - or dropping by Chesterfields Cafe, Main Street, Picton to support the County's growing Movember team.

Prince Edward County’s Men of Movember are on a mission and today they’re coming clean about it.
“Gentlemen, start your razors,” says Graham Sayers, the man behind the launch of the County’s contribution to a world-wide campaign to support men’s health, through the growth of a moustache during November.
Sayers learned about the Movember campaign from a friend and after doing his research, enlisted County friends to start their own fundraising team. Fundraising is key to the Movember mission, but raising awareness of men’s health issues will open the door to awareness and action.
“A big part of Movember is the awareness of prostate cancer and men’s health messages,” said Sayers. “Men of all ages are not only listening, they are acting on this messaging and taking positive action with their own health, diet, exercise and lifestyle. We recently surveyed the Movember community and found that because of their involvement in Movember, 39 per cent of the Mo Bros sought medical advice, whilst a further 36 per cent encouraged someone else to seek medical advice.
“Prostrate cancer has touched everyone I know – directly or indirectly. I know lots of guys with dads who have gone through prostrate cancer and so we thought it was time to give PEC a chance to help.”
The PEC Men of Movember encourage members to join the team – as a Mo Bro or a Mo Sista. Out of town supporters can sign up or donate at the Movember Canada website (search using name Graham Sayers) and County residents are encouraged to drop by Chesterfields Homegrown Cafe, Main St., Picton.
“We are also selling moustaches to Mo sistas and children at Chesterfields for $10 which will entitle them to Movember specials at the cafe and around the community.”
The Men of  Movember update their progress on their Movember Facebook site
A gala will be held at month end.
