The Prestige Midgets Kings got into a shoot-out with Lindsay on Saturday night in Wellington and when the smoke cleared they had a 7-5 win in game one of their quarter-final series. Tyler Philip (2) and Corey Prince scored to give the Kings to a 3-2 lead at the end the first period. In the second frame Nolan VanVlack (2) and Prince scored for the home squad but the Muskies got three of their own to keep the margin at a goal heading into the intermission. Both teams played better defense in the final period but Brody Hudgin put one past the Lindsay keeper to give the Kings some breathing room. Helpers on Kings goals went to Seth VanVlack (2), N. VanVlack, Prince (2), Brady Greer and Bryce VanGrootheest while Mitchell Spencer and Rick Holland shared the goaltending duties in the win.
The Kings are on the road in Lindsay for the next two games of the 6-point series before returning home for game four (if necessary) on Sunday, February 19th at 3:15 in Wellington.
