Residents in the vicinity of Picton are advised that personnel from the Canadian Special Operations Forces Command will be conducting training in the area from June 14 to 25.
“Residents may notice military aircraft and vehicles, uniformed military personnel with weapons and hear noises associated to low flying aircrafts, explosives and personal weapons,” said Captain Anne Côté, Canadian Special Operations Forces Command.
She states that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the CAF has refrained from conducting certain training outside of Canada.
“As a result, some local communities may notice increased military training activity and associated noises. All efforts are being made to minimize disruption. The Canadian Armed Forces is extremely grateful for the support and understanding of local residents during these valuable training opportunities.”
