Missing man found deceased

An elderly man missing from his family home early Thursday morning was discovered by a family member in the Bay of Quinte while police were enroute to assist in the search.
Just before 6:30 a.m., the family of the 88 year old male discovered he was missing from the family home, on County Road 3, just west of Barley Road. The family called police to assist, then went out looking for the man, and found him in the water near County Road 3.
Prince Edward OPP officers, paramedics and firefighters were dispatched, and recovered the man’s body from the water, and attempted to revive him but were unable to.
Prince Edward OPP Constable Kim Guthrie said officers and the local coroner are on scene. She noted the deceased’s death is not considered suspicious, but a post mortem will be conducted to assist the investigation.
