More than $50,000 in stolen property recovered

More than $50,000 in stolen property was located earlier this month from multiple break and enters reported in Prince Edward County and surrounding areas.
The Ontario Provincial Police report that on Feb. 7, members of the OPP East Region Community Street Crime Unit were involved in locating multiple pieces of stolen property in Prince Edward County. These items were from multiple break and enters in the County, Central Hastings and Lennox and Addington detachment areas.
Property included a 2008 Honda all-terrain vehicle (ATV), a 2002 Honda off-road motorcycle, two KTM 2020 off-road motorcycles, a 2014 KTM off-road motorcycle, a 2010 Yamaha ATV, 2021 Yamaha ATV, a Kubota riding lawnmower, chainsaws, generators and other power tools.
As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old from Belleville Ontario has been charged with two counts of theft over $5000; four counts of Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence; two counts of Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 and four counts of Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.
He is currently in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on a further date.
