Prince Edward County’s Mosquito level ball players brought home the trophy and the winners’ T-shirts from Watertown.
The 31st annual Willie Putnam Baseball Tournament is held on six sites as 32 teams from the United States and Canada compete. The event was named in honor of an athlete who was killed in 1983.
“Our first game was Saturday against South Ottawa and we won 6-1, then our second game was forfeited by Clayton, NY. We then played Sunday at noon against Lyme, NY and won 13-5” reports Veronica Norton, coach with the Prince Edward County Mosquitos team.
