More than 60 Quinte area musicians and artists will take to the stage Wednesday, Dec. 4 in a show of support for the beleaguered people of the Philippines who are suffering in the wake of Typhoon Haiyan – unimaginable devastation and a death-toll of more than 5,000 people.
Donating their talent for an evening of entertainment, they invite the public to gather to raise money to support disaster relief. Every charitable donation is to be matched dollar-for-dollar by the government of Canada. Donations will be forwarded to ACT Alliance (www.actalliance.org), a coalition of more than 140 churches and affiliated organizations working in 140 countries to create positive and sustainable change in the lives of poor and marginalised people regardless of their religion, politics, gender, sexual orientation, race or nationality in keeping with the highest international codes and standards.
Gather Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 7pm (doors open at 6pm), at Eastminster United Church, 432 Bridge Street East, Belleville. For more information, check out the Facebook event page
