Prince Edward County’s new Family Health Team site officially opened at the newly renovated Bridge Street site this week.
Clinical and administrative staff of the Prince Edward Family Health Team joined PEFHT family physicians Drs. Elizabeth Christie, Josh Colby, Norah Connell, John French, Dr. Blair Scrivens, Greg Higgins and Cliff Rice as well as Nurse Practitioners Mary Woodman, Krista Smith and Marie-Elaine Delvin at the former Tip of the Bay Hotel as of April 18.
The new site brings more healthcare providers together under one roof to better provide County residents with comprehensive, integrated primary healthcare, said Dr. Higgins, president of the PEFHT.
“The new site will improve services and serve our community’s needs for the next few years” said Duff Sprague, Executive Director of the Prince Edward Family Health Team. “We continue to work closely with QHC, the SE LHIN and the Ministry of Health on joint planning for integrated services and an integrated healthcare campus involving the hospital, Family Health Team and other services.”
Services at the new location will include: Diabetes Education, Clinical Nutrition, Mental Health, Foot Care, Wound Assessment and Treatment, Asthma and Smoking Cessation, and more.
Not all services currently offered by the PEFHT will be moving. Staff and programs will continue to be available at Upper County Clinic in Rossmore, Sandbanks Medical in Wellington, the Visiting Specialist Clinic on the first floor of PECMH, and the Nurse Practitioner Clinic in the Picton Medical building.

Happened to go into the Family Health Care site yesterday to get some stitches removed and was very impressed. A great job has been done making the facility bright, welcoming and efficient. The team who put this together should be very proud.
