New four-year agreement for County employees

The County and its unionized employees have reached a new four-year agreement that manages wage hikes and benefit improvements.

Ratified by the CUPE Local 2275 union, council approved the agreement at Tuesday’s council meeting.

The agreement, for 95 full-time and 23 part-time employees had expired March 31, 2016, so is effective from April 2016 to March 31 2020.

Highlights include wage increases of 1.5 per cent effective April 1, 2016; 1.7 per cent effective April 1, 2017; 1.8 per cent effective April 2018 and 1.9 per cent effective April 2019.
It also includes benefit improvements for paramedical coverage, providing CUPE Local 2275 with comparable coverage to other employee groups in the municipality.
