Bulk water loading station closed Tuesday 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Contractors will be working with the water and wastewater department to conduct maintenance on the Picton Bulk Water Loading Station Tuesday, Aug. 16.
 Maintenance work is to begin at 8 am for approximately two hours – expected to be completed by 10 am.
The one inch and three inch bulk water supply connections will both be unavailable while the maintenance takes place. Users are asked to come after 10am.
At least one inch bulk water supply connection will be available at all times during the maintenance.

One inch bulk water loading station closed two hours Friday

In order to implement rate adjustments for bulk water users approved by council Thursday, the Water and Wastewater Department will be working on the mechanism that controls the one inch bulk water supply connections at the Picton Bulk Water Loading Station. As a result of this work, service from the one inch bulk water supply connections will be interrupted at 8 am for approximately two hours on August 12. The work is expected to be completed by 10am.

The 1” bulk water supply connections, which are used for filling one cubic meter containers, will be unavailable while the work takes place. Users that require the 1” connections are asked to come after 10am. The 3” bulk water supply connection will be unaffected.

Council in response to the current drought conditions agreed to the reduction in consideration of rural residents that have been adversely affected by drought conditions and are forced to rely more heavily on the purchase of bulk water, Council has reduced the per cubic metre (1000 litres) rate from $4.13 to $3.07. This rate reduction will come into effect at 5pm on Friday, August 12th, 2016.
