Online Festival of Trees auction support will buy a cardiac monitor for County’s hospital

“Trees” come in many forms as entries into the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary’s annual Festival of Trees, but all proceeds go to one cause – the purchase of a portable cardiac monitor for the County’s hospital.

The charitable synergies in the County are what make the annual event special, the auxiliary notes – especially during this second year of producing a ‘COVID-19 pandemic-friendly event’ instead of the favourite weekend gala at the Isaiah Tubbs Resort.

The auction is “live” from Nov. 12th and continues to Nov. 26th, at 9 p.m.

There are about 150 items posted in this year’s online auction – everything from beautifully decorated mini trees to artwork, gift certificates, local merchandise, quilts, handmade blankets and toys, many gift baskets, wreaths, books, woodpeckers, a duck and a dollhouse, candles and characters.

The popular Christmas Boutique of decorations and gifts, held in conjunction with the festival, will be held at the Second Time Around Shop, 121 Picton Main on Nov. 27 and 28 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Last year, supporters helped the auxiliary to raise funds to purchase critical equipment, including a crash cart defibrillator and a Centrella smart bed.

  1. Liz Jones says:

On behalf of the Auxiliary, we thank all the sponsors, “tree” donors and bidders! During the pandemic most of our fundraising efforts have been shut down. Traditionally The Festival of Trees is our biggest fundraising event and we are so grateful for the generosity of the people of this County.
As well look to the Christmas Boutique at the Second Time Around Store on Sat & Sun Nov 27 & 28th. The hours are expanded to accommodate the many shoppers who will be looking to purchase items, new and nearly new, saved throughout the year for this special event.
