OPP investigate business break and enters

On the Civic Holiday Weekend officers at the Prince Edward OPP Detachment investigated break and enters at two area businesses.
On August 2, officers received a report just before 11:30 a.m. of an overnight break in at a Picton Main Street. Officers investigated and found there was nothing stolen, however, an approximate value of $2,500 worth of property was vandalized.
On August 3, around 10:30 a.m. an OPP officer attended to a business on County Road 18 in Athol Township where a report of a break and enter overnight had been made. Investigation determined that a safe containing approximately $1,000 in Canadian currency was stolen.
OPP Forensic Identification Unit (FIS) members attended to both scenes for examination. The investigations into both incidents is ongoing.
